While recreational play can begin earlier, players generally enter structured competitive environments between the ages of eight and ten. At this developmental stage, young athletes possess the motor coordination, attention span, and spatial awareness required to grasp formal tactical concepts. Prioritizing cognitive decision-making and sound technical fundamentals during these formative years builds a strong base for higher-level competitive play.
